October 1, 2025 — Endeavor Air CRJ-900s N902XJ and N480PX — New York LaGuardia

Two Endeavor Air CRJ-900s collided at LaGuardia shortly before 10 p.m. on October 1, 2025. Flight 5155 was preparing to depart for Roanoke while Flight 5047 was arriving from Charlotte. One flight attendant suffered a minor injury. Both aircraft sustained substantial damage, and passengers and crew were deplaned and taken to the terminal.

The NTSB has not issued a final causal finding

The preliminary NTSB report records that Endeavor Air Flight 5155, N902XJ, and Flight 5047, N480PX, collided at the intersection of Taxiways M and A at LaGuardia at 9:56 p.m. on October 1, 2025. N902XJ carried 28 passengers, two pilots and two flight attendants; one flight attendant sustained a minor injury. N480PX carried 57 passengers, two pilots and two flight attendants, with no injuries reported aboard that aircraft.

Investigators recovered and successfully downloaded both cockpit voice recorders and flight-data recorders. The preliminary material also records clear skies and 10 statute miles of visibility.

Postaccident examination found substantial damage to the nose and captain's windshield of N480PX. N902XJ sustained substantial damage to the outboard section of its right wing, including separation of the outboard slat, aileron and wing tip.

The investigation remains preliminary. the report therefore describes the aircraft movements, collision, damage and injury outcome without assigning a final cause that the NTSB has not yet established.

The preliminary status also means that the recorder data should not be used to manufacture a cause before the NTSB completes its analysis. The four recorders were successfully downloaded, which gives investigators the ability to compare cockpit actions, aircraft motion and the ATC sequence. Those data are central to the eventual reconstruction, but the final responsibility for the collision remains unresolved.

The preliminary report also places the collision at 21:56 local time and records the taxiway intersection precisely. Those details are already enough to establish the event and its consequences without assigning a cause before the investigation is complete.

The preliminary report also provides an unusually useful evidence base for the eventual investigation. Both flight recorders were recovered and successfully downloaded, while the NTSB collected crew interviews and aircraft examination data. The final report can therefore add evidence that is not yet appropriate to interpret as a completed causal finding.
