F-16 flyover interrupts police helicopter tracking murder suspect

During the operation, Guardian 1 informed air traffic control that it was the only unit maintaining visual contact with the suspect vehicle, as ground units were unable to track it due to limited visibility and the lack of GPS positioning. At the same time, air traffic controllers advised Guardian 1 that a pair of F-16 fighter jets were preparing for a flyby mission near a stadium and needed the helicopter to vacate the area for safety reasons.

Once the F-16 formation had passed east of College Park, ATC cleared Guardian 1 to return to its original position.
