Boeing 747 Nearly Ran Out of Fuel After Confusing Its Destination

On August 4, 2026, Silk Way West Airlines flight 7L5722, a Boeing 747-8F registered VQ-BVB, departed Felipe Ángeles International Airport near Mexico City for Houston Intercontinental Airport. The flight later found itself in the Dallas area with its fuel supply becoming critical.

The ATC exchange became unusual when the crew declared a PAN-PAN and reported only about 6,000 pounds of fuel.
